Coming May 27: Antisemitism is Spreading in K–12 Schools. Is Higher Ed to Blame?
Spring 2026 Lecture with Dr. Brandy Shufutinsky
UW Seattle Campus
May 27
Room location TBA upon registration
Bridges for Change welcomes Dr. Brandy Shufutinsky for a timely conversation on the rise of antisemitism in K–12 schools and the role of higher education in this growing trend.
Dr. Shufutinsky directs the Education and National Security Program at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), where she leads research into the influence of foreign adversaries, non-state actors, and ideological movements across the American education system.
Her work traces how influence operates in practice—through funding, partnerships, and curriculum—shaping what students are taught and how institutions respond. These dynamics don’t stop at universities. Increasingly, they are showing up in K–12 classrooms.
Dr. Shufutinsky will address what is driving these trends and how they move between higher education and K–12. She will also share what that means for educators, students, and institutions committed to academic integrity.
Part of the Bridges for Change lecture series, Dr. Shufutinsky will bring the latest research on this challenging topic to the University of Washington.
